Investing in Safety: A Campaign for Alternative Travel Routes..

Let’s start the discussion of alternative routes to accommodate the inevitable growth in recreational use, commerce, economic improvements, etc.

About Pathways Forward Idaho

The concept we are conveying is for alternative routes to allow better north-south travel that may parallel, supplement, or augment traffic patterns as options.

Alternative transportation options and alternative travel routes, or alternative corridors. We envision an alternative route into Valley County, possibly over No Business Pass and to start the discussion of alternative routes to accommodate the inevitable growth in recreational use, commerce, economic improvements, etc.   The  "dangerous stretch of road" we are referencing is Highway 55 between Boise and Long Valley (Cascade, Donnelly, McCall).

Together, we can conceptualize alternative routes to maintain access and accommodate Idaho's current & future growth.

Why Support Alternative Pathways?

The current stretch of Highways through McCall and surrounding areas experiences high traffic volume, especially in the summer months. This results in dangerous conditions for drivers, especially when combined with the road's many curves and lack of passing opportunities. The bypass would provide a safer, more efficient route for everyone who uses the highway.

1

Safety

Better alternative routes would reduce the number of accidents and fatalities. Highway 55, etc.

2

Efficiency

Alternative routes would reduce travel time and traffic congestion through Valley County.

3

Economic Benefits

Alternative routes would support increased tourism and economic development in the region.
